HOW TO INSTALL LIGHTROOM PRESETS IN: LIGHTROOM CLASSIC VERSION 7.3+ (.XMP FILES)
Step 1. Download your Lightroom Presets. The presets will come in a .zip file.
Step 2. Navigate to the Develop Module in Lightroom and click on File>Import Develop Profiles and
Presets .
Step 3. Next, you will need to navigate to the ZIPPED preset file you downloaded. If you have already
unzipped the download, navigate to the folder that holds the XMP files.
Step 4. You're DONE! To apply them, open the Presets Panel on the left-side of your screen and use the
small triangle to open the folder. Click a preset in the folder to apply it.
Lightroom Classic OLD Install Method: Open Lightroom Classic and click on the small “+” at the top of
the Presets Panel. Choose “Import Presets” from the opens that open. Navigate to the ZIPPED preset file
you downloaded. The presets will automatically install!
HOW TO INSTALL LIGHTROOM PRESETS IN: LIGHTROOM CC DESKTOP VERSION (.XMP FILES)
Step 1. Download your Lightroom Presets. The presets will come in a .zip file.
Step 2. Open Lightroom CC and click on any image.
Step 3. Go to File>Import Profiles and Presets.
Step 4. Next, you will need to navigate to the ZIPPED preset file you downloaded. If you have already
unzipped the download, navigate to the folder that holds the XMP files.
Step 5. You're DONE!! To apply them, open the Presets Panel on the right-side of your screen and use
the small triangle to open the folder. Click a preset in the folder to apply it.
For Lightroom Mobile (.dng) Files
1. Download the .zip File:
- Locate the .zip file containing the .dng file you want to install.
- Download the .zip file to your device, whether it's from a website, email, or cloud storage service.
2. Extract the .dng File:
- Use a file manager app on your device to navigate to the location where the .zip file is downloaded.
- Select the .zip file and choose the option to extract or unzip it.
- Once extracted, you should see the .dng file among the extracted files.
3. Open Lightroom Mobile:
- Locate the Lightroom Mobile app on your device's home screen or in the app drawer.
- Tap on the Lightroom Mobile icon to open the app.
4. Import the .dng File:
- In Lightroom Mobile, tap on the '+' icon located at the bottom center of the screen. This opens the
import menu.
- Select "From Files" or "Open from Device" option, depending on your device.
- Navigate to the folder where the .dng file is located.
- Tap on the .dng file to select it, then tap on the "Add" or "Import" button.
5. Access the .dng File:
- After importing, the .dng file will appear in your Lightroom library.
- Tap on the imported .dng file to open it and start editing.
6. Edit the .dng File:
- Once the .dng file is opened, you can make adjustments using Lightroom's editing tools.
- Experiment with settings such as exposure, contrast, color balance, and more to achieve the desired
look for your photo.
7. Save Your Edits as Presets:
- After applying your desired edits, tap on the three dots icon (usually located at the top right corner)
to access additional options.
- Select "Create Preset" from the menu.
- Give your preset a name and adjust the settings you want to include in the preset. You can choose to
include adjustments like exposure, contrast, saturation, etc.
- Once you're satisfied with the preset settings, tap on the checkmark or "Save" button to save the
preset.
8. Apply Presets to Other Photos:
- To apply the preset to other photos, open another photo in Lightroom Mobile.
- Tap on the "Presets" icon (usually located at the bottom of the screen).
- Select the preset you created from the list of presets to apply it to the photo.
9. Save or Export Your Edited Photo:
- After applying the preset and making any additional adjustments if needed, tap on the checkmark or
"Done" button to save your changes.
- You can choose to save the edited photo to your device's gallery or export it to share on social media
or other platforms.
